What I Have Been Busy Doing

This weekend was a very creative one for me. It is funny how it comes and goes. Does it do that for all artist types? I don't seem to be consistently pumping out the creations, but one week I will get a ton done and then it is like my brain is fried and the next week I get next to nothing created. Weird?

So the second picture is one of 20 rings I created yesterday from vintage buttons I got at a Paris flea market back in the fall. I only posted the one to see how it does in my etsy shop and I also wanted to have some for my brick and mortar booth that is set to open May 1st. You can see the ones waiting in the wings in their cute mini cupcake tin in that first image. Painted it tangerine for fun. I think I will use it to display the rings in my store.

The shell frame- did I post this already here? I am losing my mind this morning. With Paul out of town there is a lot more to do around here. Anyhoo...I saw this great shell frame at a thrift store and just knew it needed to be pink! It was sort of ugly when I found it, but the amazing thing is that the picture that was on the inside originally was a picture of the town San Malo, France where my fathers family is from. I took it as a sign that it was meant for me to buy it and make it pretty again. I also copied about 9 of my vintage postcards- all of different holidays- and cut them to fit into the frame so they can be changed out for the season or special holiday.

I also made two journals with vintage postcard images with matching bookmarks made with vintage earrings. Thought they turned out pretty pretty.

And the random picture of that guy above is my brother with my girls. He just moved back into town and my daughters love their Uncle David! Isn't he handsome? He is lots of fun and also a lot of help to me with Paul being out of town. He has had some hard times in his life but things are really looking up for him these days. I am truly enjoying his company, which I would not have been able to say last year or the few years before. I know that sounds sad, but that is another story for another day. Right now, he is happy, healthy and wise. I am very proud of him. This is the beginning of a dream come true for me and my family. I can not tell you how long he has been prayed for by all of us.

So I leave you with a quote today as always-

"Everything starts as somebody's daydream." -Larry Niven-

Do you have a daydream waiting to become a dream realized? Think about it, write it down for future reference. Some day you may make it come true.
